Damian Lazarus is known for his A&R acumen, and Amirali is the latest artist he's thrust into the spotlight. The Iranian-Canadian producer hadn't put his name to any recorded material until earlier this year, when Crosstown Rebels released Beautiful World, the single extraction from the upcoming album. According to a press release, Lazarus was on the hunt for something more "alternative" when he stumbled across Amirali, and it shows—In Time is a hard-to-categorize medley of house, downtempo and avant-pop, often led by the artist's own brooding vocals. Amirali will support the album with a string of live performances throughout the spring, including dates at Get Lost in Miami and Lovebox in London.
