French producer DJ Gregory has launched a new label for his Point G material.
A short-lived alias that arrived in 1997, the original Point G 12-inches remain elusive and expensive collector's items (although "Underwater," the lead track off 1998's On the Raw Again EP, was recently reissued by Apollonia, while Real Tone put out an unreleased version of 1997 cut "Chicken Coma" last year). A precursor to DJ Gregory, the Point G material is characterised by a simple, stripped back approach to deep house. Point G Records will initially act as a conduit for new solo material produced as Point G, though there is word of older tracks coming out further down the line. It will operate a vinyl-only policy and the first release will be a three-track EP simply called #1. The producer will also unveil his new live show at in Paris on May 17th as part of the first Weather festival.

Maya Jane Coles has announced details for a new label called I Am Me.
Over the past two years, the London-based DJ and producer has become one of the biggest names in house music. Her pop-infused style has so far seen release on Hypercolour, Real Tone, 2020 Vision and others, but her next EP will mark the beginning of her own endeavour. Easier To Hide consists of four tracks that prominently feature her own vocals. To emphasize her interest in multimedia, the EP's artwork was painted by Coles herself. This first EP will only be available digitally. No details yet on future releases.

I Am Me will release the Easier To Hide EP on December 7th through Beatport, and December 16th for other retailers.
Soul Clap will launch a new record label in September, simply titled Soul Clap Records.
The duo themselves describe Soul Clap Records as "a place of mystery, art and experimentation" and "a home for our music and our many aliases and collaborations." That said, it will launch with an EP from Night Plane, AKA Brooklyn-based artist (and past RA contributor) William Rauscher. The Heartbeat EP shows Rauscher teaming up with a few different artists, including Heather D'Angelo from Au Revoir Simone, who sings on "Gold Soundz" (a Pavement cover) and "Gates of Dawn," which Soul Clap describe as "one of our favorite Burning Man jams last year."
Heartbeat will be released in a few different forms—first a 7-inch with the original and instrumental version of the title track, then as a 12-inch with "Gold Soundz" and a Wolf + Lamb remix of "Gates of Dawn," then digitally in October with two more mixes of the same track, including the "Burning Man Mix," which you can stream or download right here.

Leeds institution 2020 Vision will launch a new sub-label this month called Midnight Visions.
Midnight Visions is run by 2020 Vision founder Ralph Lawson and his partner Andy Whittaker, plus Kazim Kazim Kazim from the label somethinksounds. It's first string of releases will focus mostly on lesser-known producers. The debut EP, On U, comes from the London artist Photomachine, who just put out his first record last year. According to a press release, artists penciled in for future releases include Presk, Doc Daneeka and Ossie, plus a new producer named Charles Krolik, who will make his debut on the label. Strictly Rhythm has outlined details for the first edition of Strictly Chill, a new ambient and downtempo compilation series.
Strictly Chill Volume 1 collects laid back versions of upbeat club tunes from the classic New York label's catalog. A number of '90s classics get the chillout treatment, including low-key mixes of Wink's "Higher State of Consciousness," Mood II Swing's "Do It Your Way," Wamdue Project's "King Of My Castle" and Ultra Naté's "Twisted," all of which are exclusive to the compilation. Due for release next week, the Strictly Chill Volume 1 will be available digitally and on CD, in both mixed and unmixed formats.
